Hemorrhoid Treatment Procedure with HemoMag®
- Clean the magnetic stimulators with water and soap or medical alcohol pads before each use.
- The active region must be covered with petroleum jelly from the tip of the device to the limiter. Once this is done, the HemoMag® is ready for use.
- For insertion of the HemoMag®, lie down in lateral position. It must be inserted carefully. In case of difficult anal insertion, the HemoMag® must be inserted gradually, i.e. in intervals in order to avoid damage to the mucosa.
- The time of application is 30 to 45 minutes with each magnetic stimulator (60 to 90 minutes total). It is irrelevant with which of the two stimulators the treatment is started, however, they have to be used alternatingly.
The treatment should be performed for 10 consecutive days. If necessary, treatment can be repeated as per the same procedure after pausing for 10 days.
Possible Side Effects: The magnetic treatment may cause temporary low blood pressure and/or temporary diarrhea. Contraindication: Patients suffering from acute or chronic heart diseases, patients on pacemakers, should not use the device. Pregnant women should not use the device. Important Note: Instruments or devices that are sensitive to the effects of magnetic fields (watches, data processing units, magnetic tapes, disks, pacemakers) have to be kept at a distance of at least 4 inches (10 cm) from the HemoMag®.
With all methods of treatment, hemorrhoids may form again and require medical attention.
